Introducing: Nehvirlahjik

"Don't think, just click. It doesn't make sense, I promise."

General

Nehvirlahjik (which reads "Never Logic") is a level that isn't arranged in a regular way. The theme of this level is that it's irregular and doesn't always make sense. I just made it based on what I think seemed like a cool place to put things.

Name

The name "Nehvirlahjik" means two things to me. First, it's a direct shot at English. English does not at all follow any set of rules phonetically, which makes me angry. So, I took the theme of this level, "Never logic" and spelled it in a way that is somewhat phonetically consistent in English. Second, the message of it, "Never logic", is a simple hint to the fact that the level isn't arranged based on any kind of logic.

Song

The song used, titled "OOH", is from my EP "Split", which was later attached to my full album, Day Zero X. This song can be found and downloaded on it's own webpage and my whole portfolio with all of my music is here. I used this song to fit the theme of illogical things, because the song doesn't really match with the level. The section of the songs don't align with the sections of the level.

Level

*SPOILER ALERT* *I WILL BE EXPLAINING THE WHOLE LEVEL HERE* *YOU CAN PLAY THE LEVEL FIRST USING THE INSTRUCTIONS AT THE BOTTOM*

Intro:

The intro of the level is in two parts, both varying in intensity, and immediately kickstarting the theme of irregularity and nonsense. When you start the level, you're met with a normal sequences of jumps, orbs, and pads. You will find a part where you are given the option to go two different directions. One leads forward, one into a pit of spikes. It's pretty obvious and easy to avoid. Straight after that, though, you are flipped upside down and launched into a fairly precise ship section, still in the middle of the calm-sounding intro. It's arguably the most difficult part of the level, but it's easy to practice and pick up.

Verse:

The verse begins by exiting the intro's ship section. Once again, you will see a normal section of spikes, pads, and orbs. You will briefly go upside down, but there's nothing difficult. Then, you enter a seemingly random ball portal in the middle of the verse. Just shorty after, you exit the ball area, like it was never there. The verse continues on with a series of normal and non-intimidating jumps, with a little bit of orb spam included. The only challenge you are faced with is a fake gravity orb that you have to avoid before finding the real orb to continue the level.

Pre-Chorus:

Into the Pre-Chorus you'll find a near-automatic area where gravity pads launch you to the beat of the song. You have only two obstacles to avoid. Then, you'll find some spikes to jump over, but still nothing very serious. Finally, you'll see a dash orb that allows you to clear a long area of spiky floor, before dropping down to the ground.

Chorus:

After the chill undertone of the Pre-Chorus, you'll get slammed into a triple speed portal. From there, reaction time is everything. First, you face a few jumps that are fairly separated and easy to clear. But then, you find a gap that you barely even realize you cleared, and get thrown into a section of strategic orb spam to continue. After, you'll hit a dash orb which you are required to hit early. Otherwise, you'll fall into a wall of saws. You fly into a wall of portals, which will return you to a normal state on the ground, where you'll have a few, simple sets of spikes to jump over. You will face an odd section of orbs and pads that are very reactionary and won't be easy to hit unless you have played the section before. Then, in the middle of this intense Chorus, you run into a normal speed portal. After that, you hit a few jump pads into an almost automatic section. The level has completely changed pace. Here, you only have to hit a few orbs in order to avoid spikes. And just like that, the Chorus ends and you've completed the level.

How to access the level

Nehvirlahjik has been verified (by me) and published to Geometry Dash. Sadly, at the time of posting, the song has not been verified on Newgrounds. So, you will have to download the song and add it manually. You can research how to do this online; there are plenty of guides. The mp3 download is available here. The song download is a .wav file, and you will need to convert it to an .mp3 to use it in GD. If the song is verified when you find it, you should be able to play without downloading anything.

Anyways, I hope you enjoy my first full level. I think it is a pretty cool concept. I'm glad I was able to create something complete within the first day of my GD level creation journey. I'm gonna make a dubstep song soon and make a more clean and more visually pleasing level soon. I will spend more time on it and it will have a more traditional feel to the game compared to Nehvirlahjik.
